Create a user in SAP system




  1. Log in to the SAP system using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. Access the user administration transaction by entering "SU01" in the command field and pressing Enter.
  3. In the User Maintenance screen, click on the "Create" button or go to the menu and select User → Create.
  4. Fill in the necessary information for the new user in the User Maintenance screen:
  5. User: Enter a unique username for the new user.
  6. User type: Select the appropriate user type, such as Dialog, System, or Communication.
  7. Name: Enter the full name of the user.
  8. Initial password: Set an initial password for the user. Note that it should conform to the system's password policy.
  9. Address and other contact details: Fill in the user's address and contact information if required.
  10. User groups and roles: Assign the user to relevant user groups and roles to define their authorizations and access rights.
  11. Click on the "Save" button to create the user. The system will generate a user ID and display it on the screen.
  12. Inform the user about their login details, including the user ID and initial password.
  13. Optionally, you can assign additional settings to the user, such as default language, validity period, password change requirements, etc., by navigating through the tabs in the User Maintenance screen.
  14. After creating the user, it is recommended to perform a user role comparison to ensure the user has the necessary authorizations for their assigned tasks.
